While reading is fun (in my opinion) , I must admit that the majority of my friends are Podcast junkies and feel that reading is more of a chore. Podcasts are a recent obsession and I must admit they are really millennial friendly… they are straightforward, perfect for the on the go person, and most importantly, FREE. While I can go on and on about how Podcast are just glorified audiobooks with more people talking (I will spare you) :), I will say book lovers or people who want to become book lovers do have great Podcast options to listen to as well!
This podcast is dedicated to books, writers and all things literary. This Podcast interviews different authors and have conversations that are cultural yet inspiring. You get the inside scoop on what authors are thinking and feeling when they are writing their books.
This podcast is neat because it is listener driven! People write in and describe themselves and describe the kind of books they are interested in and want to read, and in turn the host does a deep dive recommendation on what should be read. This Podcast is perfect if you are looking for the next read or just interested in hearing new books coming out.
So for all my lovers who keep hinting that I should start a book club, etc. this is for you! This is actually genius. The hosts are three girlfriends who read books about gender or sex and they chat about it. I don’t know if I would want me and my girlfriends on air talking about those topics, we cut up to much! But I think it is a cool concept and a way to bring friends together! So if you haven’t joined a book club this year, this may be the podcast for you!
This is another Podcast that interviews authors and learn more about the books we love.! Past guest include Celeste Ng, Colin Dickey, and George Saunders.
This podcast is similar to a book blog! They have titles such as Dystopian Fiction, Christmas Literary gifts and feature different authors and their books. My favorite podcast are the ones in which they highlight the good read of the month. You guys know I’m always looking for the next good book.
Does anyone else listen to some really good book podcast that they would like to share? If so, I would love to hear them! Happy Reading!
